One of the most amazing gifts God has ever given us is the ability to communicate with Him through prayer. Think about it, mere mortals can connect and converse with the one, living, holy God. Incredible!
But how do we approach Him? Regardless of how you feel, your “performance” does not determine your worthiness to move toward God. It’s just the opposite. Richard Foster put it well: “The key to this home, this heart of God is prayer . . . the door is Jesus Christ. How good of God to provide us a way into His heart.” The Bible says, “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God . . .” 1 Peter 3:18a
Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the Father is inviting us to come home to where we belong and what we were created for . . . to enjoy our Maker forever. “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
God invites us to talk to Him about whatever we are concerned about. Bring Him all of your questions, your needs, your fears and your dreams, with the expectation that He will listen and respond to each one. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” Philippians 4:6
God delights when we pray for each other. Those who participate in this interceding work will help shoulder your burden, remembering the promise that all of us have a greater Intercessor standing at the right hand of God-Jesus Himself (Romans 8:34).
Your requests will be completely confidential. Our only desire is to glorify God and serve each other, so enter the Prayer Room knowing you are never alone! “To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11
