The Higher Call Conference
This conference can break down the wall of separation that often exists between a person’s faith and professional life. The Scriptures are filled with powerful insights and practical instructions towards this goal. This conference equips participants to move beyond the status quo toward a God-sized view of their role in the marketplace through biblical truth, encouraging the pursuit of excellence, integrity and faith in the workplace.
I recently heard about a study which revealed that 50 percent of Christians have never heard a sermon on work; 70 percent have never been taught a theology of work; and 70 percent have never heard a sermon on vocation. Yet most of us end up spending more time at work than any other single activity.
The marketplace stands as one of the greatest mission fields of our time, yet many believers experience a total disconnect between Sunday and Monday. Most settle for a career rather than a calling, resigning themselves to a segmented life that attempts to divide secular from sacred. These miss the opportunity to have their “work life” influenced by the life of Christ. They miss the opportunity to influence others for Christ in the place He is most desperately needed and most naturally received.
Dick Halverson, U.S. Senate Chaplain, has said, “There is a distinction between church work and the work of the Church. Church work is what you do for the organized institution of the church. The work of the Church is what is done between Sundays when the Church is scattered all over the metropolitan area where it is located—in homes, schools, offices, on construction jobs, and market places.”
The Higher Call Conference can break down the wall of separation that exists between a person’s faith and professional life. The Scriptures are filled with powerful insights and practical instructions for helping professionals connect spiritual realities to their work life. David Atchison casts a vision that equips participants to move beyond the status quo toward a God-sized view of their role in the marketplace. He shares a framework of Biblical truth that will set them on a course which pursues excellence, integrity and faith within the context of the workplace.
The Higher Call Conference can be formatted as a one-day, Saturday event or a two-day, Friday/Saturday retreat. Both formats include large group teaching as well as small group interaction. The conference may be conducted at a church or business or other “neutral” location like a hotel or school. It can be customized to fit the needs of your church, business, or group.
